After getting badly lost last weekend I decided to get a cycling GPS. Was considering Edge 800 vs 810 but someone suggested the Bryton 50. This is over €100 cheaper than the Edge 800.

Anyone got any experience with or opinions on this one?

Thanks Lazairus. I read that the software didn't work with Mac although I thought that had been fixed in a firmware update. Perhaps your friend should check. Either way it doesn't bother me since I have a PC.

It's slightly ironic that the detailed review I managed to find kept saying that comparing the Bryton to the Edge was like comparing a Mac to a PC though. The reviewer meant this as a good thing, but of course that is not true from everyones perspective.

I'm aware you can load a route in to the Edge 500 and this will help you avoid getting lost but I figured I'd go the whole hog and get one where I can see the map and scroll around to see what roads are nearby.
