Saw that last night as well. Very sad. Madden and himself were the voices of all my early years watching the Giants in big NFC East clashes.

    RIP.

The voice of the NFL. Loved him and Madden. You knew you were watching NFL when they commentated.

Probably the best Commentator the NFL has ever had. Him and Madden were awesome together. When I got into the game he was coming into the last decade of his career. Have to say in the time of watching his commentary I missed his style when he was gone. R.I.P Pat

Listening to Dan Patrick and an interesting story is that his name wasn't Pat. As you know he was a kicker. And the Pat came from Point After Touchdown. Real name was Greg.

Nope! His name was George Allen Summerall. See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pat_Summerall

    Even more Nope!
The urban legend was his nickname became "Pat" because of the abbreviation for "point after touchdown" that a field-goal kicker was credited for in a game summary. But in a 1997 Dallas Morning News story, Summerall said after his parents divorced, he was taken in by an aunt and uncle who had a son named Mike.
"My aunt and uncle just started calling me Pat to go with their Mike," said Summerall, referring to frequently named characters in Irish jokes told during that time.

    According to Wikipedia :pac:

I thanked your post as I genuinely never knew that. But fook me how wrong was Dan Patrick :D Not only does he get the nickname wrong he can't even get his real name right. :D
