Banagher for a Night Out

    Hi all,

I'm looking for some local opinion about Banagher for a night out.

Every few months, my friend and I meet up. He lives in Dublin and I live in Limerick, so we normally pick a fair midpoint.

It's a bit like throwin darts at a map, but this time we've come up with three options - Banagher, Abbeyleix and Cashel.

We're not into nightclubs, so we're likely to spend the evening in a decent pub and stay one night in a hotel or guesthouse.

How would you rate Banagher against Abbeyleix or Cashel? We just have a good natter over a few pints.

So we're looking for somewhere with
    • Nice relaxed bars - not thumping music
    • Accommodation
    • Restaurant/Fast Food
If anyone has been to all three towns, I'd love to hear a comparison

    Regards

    James

Saturday night pubs- billy lyons's, simon lyon's, flynns & houghs for the finish;).

    Food- flynns bar & Lounge.....you won't be disappointed .

As far as a town go's .....its worth a go for a night..but like anywhere it has been hit hard recessionwise....famous for the filming of pure mule a few years ago.

    Thanks very much CrackCrack,

Banagher sounds like a worthwhile destination then.

Have you spent any time in Abbeyleix or Cashel by way of comparison?
