Hi, my graphics card recently gave up the ghost. It is an ati radeon 1600se 256mb vram' 512mb hm v/d/vo. Had it for years, the fan is buckled. Just wondering what would be a good, cheap replacement, because I can't find any on ebay or adverts. Thankyou

post a pic of the card .
I have 2 spare graphics card fans , if you want one.
it maybe possible to replace the fan. see below ,
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/nvidia-geforce-gt210-1gb-pci-e-graphics-card-352095
    is it a pci -e card .

It's a 7 year old card, so the EAH5450 for €31 should do you fine, providing it was a PCI-Express card that died on you.

Thanks for the replies. Also thanks for the offer, but I don't have a soldering iron, not very tech minded you see.
And how do I know if its a pci card. It looks a lot like the card in the last link

    Thanks again.

IT maybe an agp card, what pc have you got./

    eg dell dimension, 5700k .
Replacing an fan is usually, remove 4 or 2,screws ,that hold it to the card, take out, the fan power ,cable,
put on fan, put in 4 or 2,screws,plug in the cable.
    NO soldering needed.

    above image agp card,
See 3 slots, below, if it looks like that ,its an agp card,
pci-e slot card will not fit it.

    see below image ,pci-e card.

If you're not sure what type of connection it is, look for it in this picture.

Yeah, ok its a pci card and I managed to get the fan of the board. Its really that simple to just stick another fan on top? That seems a bit too easy!

WELL The replacement fan has to have the screw holes in the same place,
can you measure the old fan?
    eg45 mm x 45mm,
    side to side,

i had an old card ,years ago, it Needed 2 power cables,
1 for fan, 1 for graphics card.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quGsDSaGyFI

And make sure to plug in the power cable ,
    for the fan,
it usually is a 2hole plug, goes onto 2 prongs,
power connector , on the graphics card .

AND make sure ,power cable for fan is long enough to reach the power socket,
    MEASURE the old one.

OR just bring old fan, in to shop, buy 1 that has the screw holes in the same place exactly.
Measure from centre, screw hole, hole 1 to hole 2.

IF CARD has a metal, heatsink ,fan maybe held on by 2 clips,as in the video.

Maplins maybe the best place to buy a fan, i bought a cpu fan, there ,cost 10 euro.
They seem to have a wider range of pc parts than any other shop,
unless you go to a pc parts components shop.

Measure the screw length, ie screws must be long enough to go thru the fan bezel,.
    most FANS have 4 screws.

    http://radionics.rs-online.com/web/c/?searchTerm=+++fan&page-offset=40&sort-by=default&sort-order=default&view-type=List

Theres 3 or 4 fan sizes for graphics cards.
