Any ideas? What old WWE supertar would you think would improve the WWE the most if you could have them there in their prime?

Think I would go with HBK, he would have some pretty great matches with Punk,Bryan, Ziggler etc.

Bret Hart, in his 97 Hart Foundation days. He'd have an outstanding match with a broom!

Bobby Heenan circa 1992 on commentary.

Randy Savage, him and Punk/Bryan/Jericho would tear the house down.

Gonna give a more realistic answer because he's still young enough and active. I think Rhino would be a really solid midcard hand for WWE these days.

I'll go for Macho Man. Outstanding, intense promos, bright colourful character, excellent wrestler and no-one in the crowd would mess with him. We need more coked out promos. Everybody's far too calm these days.

JR and Heenan, the dream commentary team that as far as I'm aware, never happened.

Remember when him and Warrior were the Mega Maniacs? good jesus the promos were absolutely insane. There's one where Savage is just ranting about god knows what and Warrior is making snarling noises, hilarity. Jimmy Snuka used to do rambling promos as well "you can't hurt da Superfly bruddah!"

to be fair to Lawler when he was in full blown heel commentator mode he was brilliant as well, slagging off the Harts and anyone else. Heenan was in a league of his own though. The gimmick battle royal at Mania X7 "by the time Iron Sheik gets down here it'll be Wrestlemania 38!"

I would love Ricky Steamboat (from back in his prime) so I could watch a good solid run of his. Love when he came back briefly & wrestled Jericho, ugh was brilliant!
Also would love to have seem Mr. Perfect on a good run before everything happened to him.

Obvious but Stone Cold Steve Austin. His feuds with Cena and Punk would be legendary. Not to mention Bryan, Sandow, Ziggler, etc. Also could have good interaction with the current GM characters and bring back Laurinitis as well!

I would love to see Gangrel and Mideon back and form the ministry of darkness again.

Essa Rios and Dean Malenko would be great aswell. Or just a lot of those cruiser weights that used to feature on Heat

Mr Perfect as already mentioned is a great choice and to join him I would add another member of the Heenan Family at the time, Rick Rude. He really was a heel the crowd loved to hate.

Kurt Angle would be another, in his prime he was incredible along with Benoit and of course Eddie Guerrero (sorry if I spelled that wrong).

    William Regal, that is all.

Loved Kurt Angle as well! Was such a good performer (prob still is I dont watch TNA)! Also I used to love Taz in ECW was really dissapointed it didnt work out as a wrestler in WWE! His suplexes were crazy!

wrestlemania X but not as a two man team.

always loved piper the body and savage on commentary, but JBL is really growing on me, lawler adds nothing for me these days.

as to who i'd have back.

    jake the snake roberts [/thread]

razor ramon, ted dibiase, mr perfect, bulldog, owen hart,

actually the entire heel hart foundation. all 5 could have dragged excellent matches out of most.

Razor Ramon would work well with today's roster I believe.

Think a feud between Dolph and Mankind would be golden too.

Stone Cold Steve Austin for either Raw or Smackdown General Manager.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,953 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Either Stone Cold or Kurt Angle.

I really wish they'd give the New Age Outlaws a shot at the Tag Titles. they can definately still go in the ring, was so annoyed when they fed them to Lesnar before Mania just to fuel the stale HHH fued

Bobby Heenan. As a commentator or preferably as a Manager. He could elevate so many of the average no talking midcarders to the main event the perfect man to pass on heat had an amazing ability to get heat on himself and pass it off to the wrestler incredible ability to have and he used it to perfection.

Scott Steiner just to show how boring most of the younger generation of the roster are!

Would be cool to see Hogan back too.

Jeff Hardy and Punk I'd like to see. Not sure if it ever happened, I'm back watching for the first time in years!

    Always liked Test too.

Test passed away a number of years ago.
Punk had a rewarding series with Jeff before the latter left wwe. The series was a big moment for Punk in WWE in 2009.

Outlaws were past it nearly ten years ago.

Eddie Guerrero is an obvious one for me. I can't think of anyone more over as a heal or could pull off those crappy WWE "comedy" sketches. Shame that it can never happen.

+ 1 for Eddie, HBK and Angle

I think having someone Beth, Chyna or Lita back could help the Diva division if used correctly

Chyna is now a pornstar and out of her head

Considering people have already suggested Eddie & Mr Perfect I think it's safe to assume they arent talking about what old superstar in their current form would add to the roster but more so in the fanstasy draft style if you could bring someone back as they were at their peak who would you get. Therefore Chyna wouldnt be an out of her head pornstar ex of Hunters.

I'd love to have seen Razor Ramon break through in the modern WWE simply as the industry (at least in that company by comparison) is much more clean cut than it was in his Heyday and the guy had immense talent and I would have loved to see what he could have done if not for the road directly opposed to the wellness policy etc he went down.

Similarily I'd have loved to see a peak Jake Roberts in the WWE as the guy had a truely incredible mind for the business
JR and Heenan, the dream commentary team

As D.Bryan would say, Yes! Yes! Yes!

Another few names that comes to mind while trying to avoid just picking the biggest names of all time a la HBK or SCSA for me would be Dibiase, Steamboat and a few more but I guess if we are looking at who would add most to the modern roster (while avoiding names like the 2 I mentioned above) i'd go for the Macho Man. A lot of the older wrestlers didnt have the total package he had imo, could talk, had a presence and look and could wrestle while having a great mind for storytelling in matches. I'd love to see Savage vs any number of the modern guys and think he could have a great match with them be they Danielsons, Cena, Punk or whoever. Then there is also the fact that he is a truely off the wall and colourful character that you just dont see these days so he would really add a new dimension to the roster.

Though it would be an interesting character to see on tv. :)

I agree on someone like Bobby Heenan or one of the classic managers. There are loads of guys on the roster that could use a manager to get noticed. Maybe bring back Theodore R Long for the Primetime Players since AW was beginning to get them over and with Titus, I'd say they just need a small push.
