Do you need a certain amount of livestock respective to your hectarage, to qualify for the AEOS scheme?

I dont know if you need a certain amount of livestock but I was doing the area aid maps the last evening and the planner said he thinks that money will be made available so that all applicants to AEOS 3 be accepted . He wasnt 100% sure but I hope its true

My neighbour got paid last week, I rang about mine, I had a very small penalty and I was told that because of this i could be 2 weeks ort could be much longer. The annoying thing is that I rang 2 weeks before and was told I would have my payment in 2 weeks
How long does it take for someone to take out a calculator and calculate a penalty?. A penalty that I would have appealed, but i didnt want to cause any delay in getting my payment!

Is it necessary to have a planner when in AEOS?
If so what are they typically needed for?

Not necessary if you don't have NHA/SAC land but I think AEOS has been superceded by a new scheme, check with the dept. site

A fraction of the land is under SAC so I guess they are needed.
Under AEOS, should they take soil samples as in the REPS ?

Under Aeos 2 soil samples needed. They only had to be taken after you got approval, again check the conditions of the new scheme on the dept website.
