Gaming PC Build Needed €450

1. What is your budget? €450... Can't go over that

2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Playing Games such as Skyrim and Skype calling while gaming.

3. Do you need a copy of Windows? Yes

4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? Nope

5. Do you need a monitor? No I have a TV that doubles over as a monitor

6. Do you need any of these peripherals? Nope

7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Yes, if it's absolutely necessary. But I don't know how to.

8. How can you pay. Paypal or Credit Card

9. When are you purchasing? This weekend

10. If you need help building it, where are you based? I don't need help

450 euro's is too low a budget for a new gaming PC that includes windows. I had a look on Adverts.ie and this PC is very good value( case alone is worth 100 euro) http://www.adverts.ie/towers/cheap-quality-amd-build/2933286 and if you add the price of windows it would be with in your budget.

You might be as well off with a second hand alright.

However, if it was 720P gaming (or below), this would be okay...
You'd need to download an English image of Windows as this one is a German version. Windows 8 is a bit cheaper too iirc...

Above build is a good place to start. I'd change the ram to this though.

The graphics on those chips benefit a lot from high frequency ram. The G-skills should go to 2133 with 1.65v and lower timings.

As close as I could get it to budget. A very capable gaming computer and would run most games on high at 1080P(not as brilleant frames per second or anything) and a some games like far cry 3 and crysis 3 medium to high. Be worth it to get the 7790 into it and would bring it up to 500.

955 is gone off hardware versand which is a pity. You really need to add an extra 100 to your budget to get a bigger hard drive, 8GB Ram and a 7790 and I would actually probably add a better motherboard to the build above. 965 Black edition will be fine for at least two-three years id say.

I wouldn't go with Monotypes build as you are stuck with an old FM2 socket. 7660D is pretty awful graphics card. I know the hard drive is small in mine but can always pick up another one further down the line!

Windows is really taking away from the builds. Is their anywhere else you can source it from?

FM2 is not an old socket. Sure it's newer than AM3+ and not even a year old! Only 7 months actually. Secondly, the general consensus is that there's likely to be two more releases FM2, while AM3+ is expected to have one - future is unknown for both sockets after that (well it's unknown for right now as AMD hasn't decided and confirmed).

However, yes AM3+ will give you more upgrade options at the moment as it has all that extra room for more cores without the integrated graphics.

For a 965 against the 5800K for CPU performance, they're about the same,... which I suppose isn't saying much since the 965 is two generations old and would be more of a stop gap if you got the AM3+.

With a reasonable heatsink though, the 5800K, can be overclocked to ~4.5GHz. 965 tops off 3.8GHz-4GHz. Which is an advantage but not an amazing difference since the 965 will do more in each cycle. GPU can actually be overclocked too. I think it was xbitlabs who showed quite considerable overclocks in that.

While I can understand that AM3+ offers better CPU upgrades, you're also robbing from the other hand. You've cut out SATA 6Gbps and USB 3 which I think are quite important in a build nowadays. You'd want the faster SATA speeds for solid state drives. Also there's no need to be buying a 7200.12 Seagate drive when there's newer versions - actually the WD is cheaper for the 1TB! The 320GB doesn't say which generation it is. As far as I can see, Seagate is still offering only 1 year warranty, regardless of what it says on hardwareversand's pages. WD is still offering 2 years AFAIK.

If you wanted to go down the AM3+ route, you should get a reasonable quality motherboard that will last you and see if you can source a second hand compatible CPU to cover you for a while.

I went the am3+ route because he can upgrade to AMD FX processor further down the line. Their has to be cuts in the build at that price and included a 7770 which is a decent budget graphics card. He should spend an extra 20 on a better motherboard.

Yeah, I was talking to a friend of mine and I could get Windows seperately. I'd want to be using FRAPS and recording games while playing them at a decent 45+ fps ... Soo €400-500 without windows is the new budget.

Its a shame that €75~ AMD 955BE is no longer stocked by HWVS, it was at a really sweet price point for a budget gaming CPU.

Edit:

At the very least get this if going for an AM3+ build as it has a few USB 3.0/SATA 3 ports, with the extreme3/4 in the very nice to have column.

Also @op on this sort of budget I'd consider a single stick of 4GB RAM, obviously with the intention of matching it up later on

TBH forget that. Fraps tanks performance. For low end rigs about in half, so you want to 90+ FPS in any game you want to record on a super low budget. Maybe Im wrong but I dont see that happening.

Afterburner and the like cause less of a performance hit but still hit it pretty hard.
