If you were willing to push the boat out up to 1.4 I could set you up nicely with an 02 MG ZR

Cheers Max, but 1.2 is big enough.

Little bit of topic but the Fiat Punto (1999 model) has serious short comings in leg protection in a crash. Struggling to find the ruling but there was a case in Italy (I think) taken against Fiat. Something to do with a bar below the driving column literally becoming a guillotine for your legs. I hinged on Fiat knowing it as a fault and not correcting it. I have nothing against Fiat for the record but I'd never drive a Punto as a result of reading that.

Bear in mind they're taxed as 1.3 so at that rate you shouldn't rule out 1.3 cars like starlets and corollas

That model Punto got a 4* EuroNCAP rating for occupant protection which is as good as it got in 1999, it was 2004 before a supermini got a 5 star rating. Things may have moved on a lot since then and there are lots of things you could fault that Punto on but you're going to need to back up that story with some kind of reputable source given it's EuroNCAP rating.

Agreed and no contest. I just remember reading something (years ago I may add, and it always stuck with me. Definitely the Punto model) and if I find I'll post back.
