    Hey,

I've noticed recently that i have to almost force the gear stick to get into first gear, while other times its fine.
From a stop, sometimes instead of forcing it, i put the car into 2nd gear and move up to 1st and it clicks easier than putting it directly into 1st gear.
And then other times its fine

Could it be the start of a problem?

Check for clutch fluid, is it low, maybe needs changing? Also any slack at the clutch pedal, is there a clutch cable involved? These can usually be adjusted just like a brake caliper on a bicycle, by adjusting the locknut and tightening up the cable a tad. No harm to check the fluid in the gearbox also!

Clutch fluid did cross my mind but then i figured this would be a constant issue, and not intermittent.

Cant say i noticed any slack at the pedal either. I've no idea if i have a clutch cable!

Does it crunch at all or does it just feel like there is something blocking it?

Had this problem with my previous car - ford focus - in and out of garage with it for weeks until it just got worse - had to replace the clutch

Try easing the clutch pedal out a little and back in again as you're trying to engage the gear, it may engage easier that way and get you by until you get it checked out.

It's probably not it, but remove gaiter and have a look underneath and clean.
It probably won't help but at least you checked and it's an easy job.

Not a crunch, but just feels like its blocked. If i go back to neutral and try again, it'll be fine. And sometimes i just go through a gear or two.

Could it be a gear linkage problem?
