I got an offer from an in law to work at the Ryder Cup in the K Club. Initially I was told that I would be working on course, so I met a bus in some carpark in Kildare and was brought up and 'dumped' along with some others about 2 miles from the course and I was told that my job for the 5 days was to check in and out cars.

Ah heere, leave it out says I, and I hopped on the bus, picked up the car and went to the brother and ended up golfing with him.

Not a major, but I worked at the Irish Open for a number of years selling programmes. Always targeted Dads with sons as they usually got one for the lad!!

Made a good few Bob and saw great golfers - Faldo, Monty, Langer, Sergio, Ernie, Sam Torrance, Des Smyth, McGinley. Those were the days!
