Ok so graduation coming up, went to dunnes to get as cheap a suit as possible,(black jacket + trousers)..went to checkout ...WTF! €95 for polyester junk.. For a few quid more I should be able to get something that might last a bit longer than one wearing... Any distinguished gentlemen here any recommendations...max budget €150 ish

Marks and Spencer. They've a very good selection. Go to the one on Grafton Street or in Dundrum. You'll be sorted.

    Cheers,
Any idea what the quality would be like. Like would I get a few funerals out of it in years to come? Or would it fade to grey in just two wearings!

I needed a suit for job interviews recently and was surprised by the quality and fit of the ones in tesco.I taught they were going to be crap but they had a big selection of styles and prices varied from 30-150,
If you want a real cheap one you can get a pants in pennies for a 10er and same for the jacket.

The mens section in Arnotts has good quality stuff and it's reasonable enough too. The real bonus in there is the sales staff, if you go in and tell them exactly what you're after and you're budget they'll be able to sort you out with a well fitted suit. Old school tailor types ... suits you sir! :)

Marks and Spencer suits are very good. Price range varies, and the staff are usually very helpful (particularly in the one on Grafton Street)

Buy off the rack somewhere like M&S and then get it fitted by a tailor.

Quality is good with M&S but you won't get pure wool suits there @ 150E unless they're on sale. Pure wool suits usually start at 200E, might get a wool/poly blend for your budget.

Also if it's versatility you're after, please don't get a black suit! I'm convinced it's some sort of fashion advice passed down by Irish mammies!

Unless you have the misfortune of being a pallbearer several times I don't see the need at all for a black suit. So dull and sombre. Navy or charcoal will be far more versatile.

Zara is another option, especially for younger men. Unfortunately you do get what you pay for with suits. I have no special interest in male clothing yet I could tell from a distance if you are wearing Penny's or Tesco suit.
