No suggestions sorry. Any paint used for kids toys had to be non toxic, perhaps you could source some of that. I'd say consistency be important too.

Whatever you try concocking will have to do the job or it could work out costly!

Would the litre do the season? I wouldn't be complaining if I had all 15 cows bulled with it

Theres plenty of non toxic water based paints out there. would it be more ideal if it only lasted a couple of days. it would just be a case of getting something stop the paint fom setting or drying, theres bound to be something for it as there are paint catalysts and retarders for some paints.
I'm only thinking out loud here so dont take any of this as fact. I havnt actually ever seen a chin ball in action.

I've started buying ordinary raddle powder and mixing it with oil seems to work and is much cheaper.

Great stuff. I see below that the sheep lads mix it with Vegtable Oil.
Where is the best place to get Raddle Powder?

Ok, made mix as follows, but haven't put it into the halter yet. Will do tomorrow.
    Mixed it
    • 500g Sunflower Oil,
    • 550g plain flour
    • 100g Raddle powder.
Highly explosive. :D Flour needed to thicken the mix. Add flour mixing bit by bit. Will let you know if it works. Green Raddle powder was €6.90 for 1 Kg.They didn't have Blue. I haven't put it into the halter yet. Will do tomorrow.

How many cows in the bunch?
I reckon 1 litre of the proper stuff will last at least 2 years, had it on a bull this summer for about 2 months, then on a different bull mopping up. Still not empty, if anyone has any tips on how to keep a chin ball on a bull let us know. Found ours beside the concrete trough:p

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.
