hey just wanted to ask about tyres for my car,

i need to get 4 new tyres, currently the tyres are 155/70/r13

iv been offered a set of 175/70/r13 for a reasonable price

would they be okay on it?
checked tyre size sites and theres a 5% difference, would it make much of a difference?? or cause any problems?

    thanks in advance

Reason I'm asking is it will make your steering heavier.

would it be a major difference? its not bad at the minute, just when your pulling in somewer, other than that you wouldnt really notice

Correct size tyres should be really cheap anyway.

What make are you being offered, and how much?

175/70 on the (narrower) non PAS Polo rims will be too big. As Colm says above, 155/70 13 tyres are about the cheapest size you can get so there is no excuse for not sticking to the standard size.

4 tyres and steel rims(not needed but there included) for €60, thread depth looks fairly decent on them,

the local tyre place was looking €30 a tyre(part-worn). moneys tight at the minute so i was inclined to chance the different size,

when i first got the car one of the tyres was 165/70/r13 and i didnt notice until i changed it...

so if i used the rims with the tyre would they be okay?

maybe ill just get the 155/70, i could get away with 2 on the front for now

€30 a corner for that size second hand is mental.

Found them for €20 last time, but no luck this time, is there anywhere online that would deliver?

You'd have to pay for fitting then.
Where in the country are you?
