Reading Utd v Liverpool fc 15.00 hrs

    Confirmed #LFC team v Reading:

Reina, Enrique, Johnson, Carragher, Agger, Lucas, Henderson, Gerrard, Sturridge, Suarez, Coutinho.

#LFC subs: Jones, Assaidi, Downing, Coates, Suso, Shelvey, Skrtel.

Reading - McCarthy, Mariappa, Gunter, Kelly, Morrison, Guthrie, McAnuff, Karacan, McCleary, Hunt, Pogrebnyak

Subs Pearce, Le Fondre, Harte, Carriço, Blackman, Taylor

Reading are going down but that doesn't mean they will stop trying so after the torpor of Liverpools game against West Ham some greater application will be required esp from the middle. The three pronged attack means Henderson will have to get busy covering with Gerrard probably the one looking to feed the ball to Suarez along with the full backs to Sturridge and Coutinho.

I'm pretty sure this is on Setanta Ireland as well.

I fancy a Reading fight today. Score draw.

Guys at Setanta still think Mcdermott is Reading manager...

I hope Reading think they still can rescue this as it'll encourage them to come out and play, which clearly helps Liverpool.

On a side matter the Liverpool U18 scratch side (cos of the youth cup yesterday) beat Wolves this morning 4-0 with a side 15 years and 4 months old average.

    4-0

Henderson, suarez a couple and sturidge

Already Reading are allowing Suarez to drift into the hole between attack and midfield and aren't looking to follow him. Now, we haven't exploited it, but its strange when you consider how well Collins did last week by following him into those areas.

Maybe the threat of Sturridge is what is making them keep to there flat back four.

Looking forward to seeing Suarez and Sturridge upfront. Really want to see both of them tearing the opposition apart

Truly awful for the first ten minutes.

    Team not pressing as unit.

Was going to say that we don't seem to be pressing up top that much atall

    Slow start no doubt

*edit Dear god what a clearance!

Nice play to work the opening.

Unlucky. Decent attack there, hopefully we keep it up as its been poor up until now.

Suarez really needs to work on the old offside shuffle.

    And they scored none

He'd have scored if it was down his own end :pac:

Sturridge's touch was poor there. Did well after to get past defender and get the shot in however.

    Carra so close!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

    Carra should have scored! ;)

Trevor Francis "its amazing Liverpool haven't scored"

    Me "no it isn't"

"a shot from the diminutive Coutinho"

    'Diminutive, meaning slight, or small'

    Gettin' all educated here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,347 ✭✭✭✭Grayditch

Couthinho is brilliant at passing, dribbling and shooting. That's eh...dead handy.

    Sturridge looks a bit off.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,299 ✭✭✭djPSB

Sturridge needs to play through the middle.

Take him if he dosen't improve.

LFC need to score here ...Reading out their depth

Spot on from Kaiser. I'll be disgusted if we don't get one before half time. Even more if we don't win.

    What were they saying?
That "always the victim" being sung by what sounded like the whole Reading support.
    Just did it again there.

"always the victim" Reading supporters are a bit dim.

I think it's time to get reading again if you're getting an education from Setanta Sports :pac:

Very poor from Henderson there....and Johnson - somebody should've just given a shout of 'time' ffs

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

    General lack of "omph" again.

Liverpool need to do more work on the ball and off it, their passing is not good enough to use the ball for the work.
