Why is there so much of this bloke on Sky Arts 2 lately. For the past month or maybe more he is all that has been on Sky Arts 2. I am actually a classical music fan but this has gotten ridiculous. It's cheesy European Classical trollop. Vomit inducing Belgians waltzing to trite, out of time schmoltzy versions of classical classics.

Sky Arts 2 normally has some interesting programmes on famous painters, museums, historical documentaries etc, but this gobdaw on 24/7 is diriculous...am I missing something, did he die or something?

Same thing they do with the movies, like the 007 tripe.

Cause we all know we want to watch james bond over an over again for 3-4 months.

No new content so they fill it with ****e

I've watched many of his concerts now on Arts and the one thing for sure is that there is son many plants in the audience to "heighten the emotion" .. So very cheesy.

Still the guy has fantastic ability. But definitely overkill at this stage.

Do you mean plants like audience members paid to participate or the botanical variety of slow growing species? I can't tell the difference with this audience. Just watching champagne sipping middle to aging, middle-class Belgians gets my blood boiling for some reason. All having a 'great laugh'. I don't even mind that he's bastardising the music with pukey arrangements, but watching Belgians enjoying themselves angers me. Belgians/Dutch don't do fun. Pitiful thing is watching cute 20 something year olds from Maastricht dancing a waltz with their aged uncle to the music of Strauss and they seem to be loving it.

Although luckily this onslaught of faux happy euro classical excrement seems to be ending tomorrow

you're a bit harsh don't you think? I have no feelings one way or another towards the Dutch and Belgians but lets face it, if the Dutch were like the Irish and wanted to have "fun" that square in Maastricht would be knee deep in empty bottles and cans, no doubt The Fields of Athenry or Ole Ole would be belted out between the "pukey arrangements" - craic (cringe)
The orchestra seem to me to be very talented musicians and predominately female from what I can see (women with talent who don't have to take their clothes off to get attention - how often do you see that these days! , a welcome change from the vomit spewed out by the likes of Beyonce and Rihanna)

Nah you're dragging this into some sort of feminist/Nationalistic spat. Nothing to do with the predominantly female orchestra, it's mainly the cheesy, cringeworthy tat thats being rolled out. Simply put...Belgians/Dutch don't do fun. But that's beside the point...just wondering why this Eurotrash is on our screens 24/7? I know I can change channel but I just wanted to know why him all day long? There are thousands of better musicians who don't play up to this tame sing along performance of music with an audience who doesn't really seem to understand the music anyway. They performed Beethoven's 9th
and managed to bastardise it by changing parts in the wind sections, basically playing up to the tune everybody knows. This isn't classical music, it's muzak for bourgeoise Europeans.
