Hi guys not sure how active boards is in regard warhammer but I'm trying to gauge how much interest there is in Waterford. If I had enough I'd be willing to put in the work and organise a club! So if you collect and live in the area would you attend a club if there was one?

There aren't any shops anymore, and haven't been for a long time now, hence the lack of players... They are out there, but there's nowhere for us to come together! I know that there's a club in WIT that deals in board games, and a little bit of RPG's/Warhammer too.

There's a club in Wexford if that helps, but it'd probably be too far away for you to go to it every Friday night.

I know that McModels in New Ross might be setting up a club at some point as well. At least it's closer than Wexford town! Also, Wargaming Ireland is the biggest Wargaming website in Ireland, so check them out too.

By the way, I MIGHT be able to attend a club that you set up once the college exams are over (about six weeks).

Not the North Wexford crew, these guys are originally from the shop on Selskar street. They kept the club going even after the shop closed down, so send them a message!

I think they're on from around 7 to 10 every Friday and there's about 15 or 20 of them down there regularly. It's in some community center place and costs a fiver as well.

    Good luck!

Hi all, not into warhammer myself but I know what it is (marines, orcs and eldar? - I may have had a few eldar in my teens)..
Anyway, I saw some warhammer stuff for sale in a book store on the high street there (waterford).. like near Chapz hairdressers on the same side..
The guy in there seems pretty cool.. he might help ye out?

Spotted that one a while ago, and it seems I wasn't the only one either!

Someone else picked up an old Assault on Black Reach set for half nothing!

Is that where Tall Tales was? Or is that shop still going under a different name? I remember seeing warhammer stuff in there a few years back when it was open. Always had a passing interest in the game but time / money were always a factor. Have more of each now and half tempted to get a starter set especially if they are on the cheap in town!

The shop itself doesn't have a name, although it's where Tara Blinds used to be. They haven't painted over the outside yet, so you should be able to find it just fine, since it's on the same street as the old Tall Tales was.

The guy who runs the place, Kieran, is a sound lad. He told me that the guy who ran Tall Tales is now off in Clonmel, and that's where Kieran is getting the Warhammer. He gets the stuff that Oliver(Tall Tales) can't shift.

Why don't you guys get a club going by the way? It'd be nice to see a wargaming group in Waterford again!

Does anyone remember back when the Hobby Shop on the quay was open, and a Games Workshop rep used to come down and organise games every Wednesday? Good times!

Cheers must take a wander down during the week and see what they have out of curiosity. Tall Tales was a real gem, it's a shame that they have gone, would love to see another shop like that come into the town. I used to play in some of the Halo tournaments they held and as a book shop you could always pick up something decent. I do remember looking at the Warhammer stuff they had at the time and can remember the selection being decent enough for the size of the shop. Nice to hear that Oliver is still going up in Clonmel, he was always sound to deal with.

The selection was surprisingly big for the shop alright, there was a fecking huge selection in the back with all sorts of stuff! But I heard that the regulars just stopped showing up after a few years, the place got in debt, and that was that...

It was renamed to Ouroboros books before closing down though, I have no idea why. And they moved down the road after a while too, to a smaller shop without an upstairs, but with more Warhammer. I remember when the place was closing down, and Oliver cut me a really good deal on a few bits and bobs.

Hi guys, sorry for the late reply. So i have managed to rope together a total of 5 people so far to look into setting up a club in the city and try get the war gaming scene back up and running here. At the minute we are trying to get an estimate of the amount of people who would go and checking out some venues that would be easily accessible and cheap. If anyone is interested here or knows people who are contact me here and ill give you as much information as we have when we have it!
