    One of the few Actresses to star in both Eastenders and Coronation Street Michelle Collins is on the couch. She got into a Twitter row during the week when she accused Eastenders Actress Kierston Wareing of having had a 'ridiculous lip job'

    Panto Star and former King of The Jungle Christopher Biggins drops by to 'talk about his feelings on Thatcher and to tell us about the highs and lows of his showbiz life.' according to the Press Release (Surely it's Baroness Thatcher or at least Mrs Thatcher?) I remember Biggins from when he was presented 'On Safari' on ITV with Gillian Taylforth in 1983 :eek: He hasn't changed much since then, more than I can say for myself

    Some Irish Athletes from The Special Olympics talk to Brendan about how their involvement in the Games has changed their Lives

    RTE shameless plug guest is comedian Kevin McAleer who has a programme about the Ulster Scots dialect on RTE1 next week. No idea what that is like, but the title reminds me of the 90s BBC2 Series 'Our Friends in the North', which is a terrific drama and is well worth checking out.

    Music from Josephine. The name sounds a bit Country and Irish, but don't be fooled, here she is on Jools Holland a while back

    Sin a bhfuil, see you here at 9.35pm.

    All I can say is bring on Biggins, I am probably going to have a challenging day ahead of me tomorrow, so Biggins bring me a million miles away from my world laughing.

    Special Olympics will probably give me hope for Sunday.

    But Kevin McAleer is more than likely someone I will quote in the future (no matter what it brings).

    Biggins = Twink in disguise?

    Biggins = Tw**k in disguise?

    :eek: Little bit harsh there, WM.

    Biggins has done lots of good stuff. He is, of course, best known for 'On Safari' (in my head) but he was in Porridge and Rentaghost among other TV roles. He also appeared in lots of Reality Shows and pretty much every Musical Theatre and Panto going. And he was in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, both the filum and on Stage.

    He's in this video, Be careful you don't do yourself an injury with them Pelvic Thrusts :p

    Looking forward to biggins :)

    I feel asleep on couch at start of LLS last night. One minute tubs was making smarmy gibes about a couple in the cold , next thing I know some craZy man was being mean to his wife. (some film on about one-ish)

    So hopefully sns will be a better laugh later :)

    Kevin McAleer is great. He's probably a bit avant-garde for the Saturday Night Show audience though. The last time he was on the Late Late, the response from the audience was one of mild bemusement. The average Irish television audience doesn't really 'get' comedy - unless they're being spoon-fed ancient 'gags' by someone like Brendan Grace or June Rodgers.

    Yes, i agree RayM, Kevin is funny. It is a very dry funny though that can be hard to tune into . A bit marmite I suppose. Remember reading his columns in farmers journal (I think) years ago . Also read them in his voice very funny.

    Ah, Kevin McAleer.

    Years ago, there we were sitting in watching Nighthawks on the telly.

    And who'd come on only this fella called Kevin. Aye. Kevin Mc - Aleer.

    Now Kevin would be there talking away. Oh God he used to be fierce funny, so he was.

    He'd been there talking away in his own way, telling a story about nothing. Aye. Ah, no one told a story like Kevin.

    Haven't heard him in years, wonder if he still sounds the same?

    I won't be here much tonight because of the Masters but I saw Brendan's promo there a minute ago and he doesn't look well at all. He's lost loads of weight. I hope I'm wrong.

    Probably just a side-effect of losing a lot of weight very quickly. I remember Stephen Fry became similarly gaunt-looking a few years back. Although the spiritual healer/charlatan/fraudster Helen Parry-Jones diagnosed him with an unspecified serious illness when he interviewed her a few months ago.

    Fair play to the lads, they are great Ambassadors for the Special Olympics, It is daunting enough in a studio.

    Lovely personalities and I'm loving the honesty of their reply's!!

    Brendan is handling the interviews with a lot of style.

    He did say something like "I doubt if this show will be still going in 2015".

    You never know, maybe there are rumblings in RTE.
