    Hello all.

I am interested in taking up FMA and just wanted some info from anyone who has some experience. While stick / weapon training seems great, I would also be very interested in empty hand techniques and training. From what I understand the jist of FMA is that the training with weapons can translate to empty hands too; so in your experience is this the case?

Are there certain clubs in Dublin that focus on empty hand training a bit more?

If anyone has any recommendations on FMA clubs that would be great. Cheers guys!

Doce Pares in pearse street, Lameco in firhouse, Giron Arnis in Blanchardstown, Warriors Eskrima in clontarf. Thats about it in Dublin.

Most FMA systems have an empty handed element, but if you're not really interested in weapons then training in most FMA styles is a bit pointless

Cheers for all the info guys. I appreciate it.

Just to clarify, the weapon aspect (both knife and stick) really interest me. It was from seeing some vids of sparring with sticks that initially got my attention. Just wanted to check with yourselves who have some experience in it if much of the training component included empty hands.

I'll have to pop out to a training session one of the evenings. Just checking where is most convenient for me locationwise. Thanks again!
