    four master cycling club

The club season starts this Tuesday 30th April @7pm with a TT at Burt, we need 3 marshals for roundabout, so if you can marshal please comment below b4 12 o'clock on Tuesday, if we don't get 3 marshals we will have to cancel the TT, we are going to use this format all year for TT and Road races, so no Marshals no racing, Sorry.

Please check this Facebook page every Tuesday after 12pm before you travel to a club event to see the status of the race/TT,
Bring your license or copy of you CI page with you as they will be checked this year.

Sorry to dig up an old thread and good luck with the Ras (real one) this weekend.

Do you know if the Poison Glen Tour is going ahead this year on July 21st as my wife has just informed me of when we are visiting the homestead for this summer?

Hope you get better weather than I did last weekend on Glengesh and Granny!

Plans are well under way for the 'Donegal Bay Kermesse' on Saturday 20th July in Mountcharles. Belgian racing, Donegal style!! A simple explanation of a Kermesse race is basically a hard man’s hammer race. The main race will cater for A1/A2/A3 riders. 13 laps of a 6.3km circuit, 82km total. The separate A4 race will also be 13 laps of a 4.9km circuit, 64km total. A nice 'wee' climb is included in both circuits. Both circuits pass through the village of Mountcharles on each lap and they also take the riders right on the waters edge of Donegal Bay. More info and pre entry details to follow soon.

The 2013 Four Masters Poison Glen Tour is set to take to the roads of Donegal on Sunday 21st July. The 78 mile course will take the same route as last year with a feed station at An Churt Hotel in Dunlewy.

Cycling trough Glenveagh National Park and the Poison Glen this is a must do tour for all cyclists who appreicate the scenic beauty that Donegal has to offer or those who just enjoy a challenging cycle.

Similar to last year this event will be leaving Aura Leisure centre in Letterkenny and travel through Kilmacrennan via Trentagh. We will then turn left in Termon through the magnificent Glenveagh National Park before turning right to tackle the first climb of the day, the Muckish gap. Once over Muckish its down into Falcarragh and on to Gorkahork and Dunlewy before a feed stop at An Chuirt Hotel in Dunlewy.

After a 15 min stop here we set of to tackle the toughest climb of the day, The Poison Glen. After you summit the Poison Glen you have a fast descent down into Glenveagh once again and then back towards Letterkenny via Gartan.

This is a fun day for everyone and not a race. Sign on will open from 8.30am and we will leave at 9.30am.

Showers and refreshments will be available afterwards in the Aura Centre in Letterkenny

    Tour de Glen

The second annual Tour de Glen charity cycle takes place on Sunday, October 13th, 2013. Last year’s event was a major success, and raised a grand total of €16,000 for Temple Street Children’s Hospital. The benefactors of this year’s cycle are The Cleary Centre in Donegal Town. If any of you are interested in taking part in the cycle, and require further information, please call into Doc’s Bar, contact Caitríona at CLG Naomh Columba on 086 1970127, or message CLG Naomh Columba on Facebook. Go raibh maith agaibh
