    Hi guy and gals,
So Im off to Spain on a good old-fashioned summer sun charter in July! Our flights were initially due to be operated by Iberworld/Orbest ! They have gone bust and now our flights are showing up as Jetstar Airways! And the times have changed from a 7am departure to a 9pm departure, which in itself is a pain in the ass as we will loose a full day of out holiday! Anyway my question to you all is who the hell are jetstar ? I know it cant be jetstar from Auz/Asia! Ive done a search myself and all google throws up is jetstar from Australia, which cannot be correct! SO has anyone any idea who this jetstar charter company are?
    Thanks in advance!

Could be codeshared or something along the lines of that. Someone has obviously bought the flights from the old company if the tickets are still valid. Typing in jetstar Europe brings up jetstar Asia plus virgin and Qantas so.. that's as good a guess I can give.

Do you have a flight code/number?

Is it possible Jetstar Airways have bought the charter jobs and are sending up an A320/A330 to operate them? Could be a decent earner on the usual Spanish routes etc in the summer?

The Carrier is a Spanish airline called Alba Star. They operate a small fleet of Boeing 737's.

Nah i doubt that! There would be all sorts of difficulties attached to getting an Auz airlines to operate a flights between two EU countries! And no airline managment in their right mind would bother with the hassle just to operate a DUB-PMI return sector once a week!

Thanks , this is the most likely reality! What casts doubt is that i read elsewhere that Alba Star are filling in for Orbest from Cork i think, and possible some Dublin routes but then Jetstar was specifically mentioned for the DUB-PMI sectors as well.!

It is Alba Star as their IATA two-letter code is JQ.

JQ is also the code for Jetstar Airways (Australia) but this is allowed by IATA because the airlines operate in different hemispheres.
