Signing a car over to your insurance company

    Just wondering what happens if you sign your damaged car or recovered car over to your insurance company.
    Does it get repaired and sold or whats the story with it?

    Why? It's not yours to decide what happens. If you want you can take the payment, less salvage value, and do as you please with it. Otherwise it's up to the insurance company to dispose of it as they see fit.

    I'm not in this situation and hope I never will be. I was just curious. Thats all

    They sell it, either to a breakers if its un repairable or to a salvage agent if it can be repaired
