Competitive salary & Commission-what does it mean?

Have an interview next week, didn't discuss salary/wages over the phone but the job ad said competitive salary and commission. I know this might sound stupid but does anyone know what this exactly means? I'm clueless!

It means it would be in line or better than similar jobs out there. I wouldnt read too much into it. Why not state the salary range instead of putting this vague statement.
