Not sure we need separate awards for TE and WR. Surely in madden(particularly this franchise) it amounts to the same thing unless we are including how well they block in the award.

But what difference does it really make? It's not like we're giving out a cash prize. TE is a specialist position and this is entirely done for the craic.

We should put in worst d an o and people will vote for who was easiest to defeat thus spurring them on to not win that award the next year.

Thinly veiled attempt at cyber bullying?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,557 ✭✭✭madalig12

More as a motivational tool, why would I bully myself? As one of the worst teams I'd expect to have a chance at winning an award for once:)

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 21,693 Mod ✭✭✭✭helimachoptor

Yeah not something i'd be keen on, it would be a slippery slope down to other "awards" which would basically be online bullying.

Right based these on stats and those I've played too.
Coach of the Year: Raiders -Whilst there are teams with only 1 loss on their record I think we expected thoses guys to be there or there abouts but my vote goes to the Raiders Coach, made a huge improvement to the Raiders franchise and is now on the cusp of AFC Championship appearance
Best Newcomer: Seahawks-I think the Seahawks GM only joined pre draft and now he's in the Divisionals
Best Offense: Chiefs-Whilst yes ranked 5 in the offense charts(although taking just offensive yards alone they would be pretty much even with the eagles) still the most impressive offense I've seen
Best Defense: Chiefs-Ranked number 1 defense and only 2500 yards given up all season, scary!
Quarterback of the Year: RGIII-Best QB rating in the league
Running Back of the Year: MJD-averages 144 yards a game, damn impressive
Wide Receiver of the Year: DeSean Jackson-Almost 2500 yards off 97 receptions
Tight End of the Year:Jermaine Gresham-2300 yards off 127 receptions
Defensive Player of the Year: Well obviously its hard to look past RE Trent Cole with 38 sacks,1 interception and 1 forced fumble but I gonna throw on my Rose Tinted glasses and give it to LOLB Von Miller! With 22 sacks,4 interceptions(returned for 102 yards),4 force fumbles and 1 pass deflection. With the nature of his position and having played 68 less plays than Cole I give it to Miller.......cause he's a Beast!!
    MVP: RG3

    Coach of the Year: raiders
Best Newcomer: Seahawks ( his playing style is to hard grind but it's effective..)
    Best Offense: Redskins
    Best Defense: Berty
Quarterback of the Year: RGIII (55 TDs !!!!!) dunno how I got kolb up to 8th though!
Running Back of the Year: Lynch
Wide Receiver of the Year: steve Smith- obviously Larry Fitz is the better reciever ;p
Tight End of the Year: Fleener-thought he was real hard to cover this year
Defensive Player of the Year: McClain
    MVP: RGIII (55 TDs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,557 ✭✭✭madalig12

    Coach of the Year:mikey Jags.
    Best Newcomer:Seahawks
    Best Offense:Steelers
    Best Defense:Berty's Chiefs
    Quarterback of the Year:RGIII
    Running Back of the Year:MJD
Wide Receiver of the Year:DeSean JACKSON
Tight End of the Year:GRESHAM with Davis a close second!
Defensive Player of the Year:Jimmy Abreu
    MVP:RGIII

Didn't go for Berty for coach of the year, as he lost a game:o, Mikey did too but less was expected of him. A brilliant season for some players this year.

Wide Receiver of the Year: Mike Wallace

Based only on who Ive played. And my own sense of self-satisfaction. :)

Coach of the Year: Redskins Methodical, efficient.
Best Newcomer: Im only new myself soI don't really know who's eligible...Seahawks?:p
Best Offense: Falcons I could not get to grips at all. Only time all year.
Best Defense: Redskins Held me to 3 points...
Quarterback of the Year: RG3 Kept my own offense off the field, made plays on land and in the air.
Running Back of the Year: Lynch All the eggs were in his basket.
Wide Receiver of the Year: DeSean Jackson Kept me honest.
Tight End of the Year: Vernon Davis Little bit of NFC West love.
Defensive Player of the Year: Sherman Was the game-changer so often for me. 14ints and 5tds, all against human opponents.
    MVP: RG3

As regards RB,might I just point out that Lynch has carried my Seahawks to the playoffs. Ive had little other offense. MJD is a worthy choice though too. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,557 ✭✭✭madalig12

Davis....just for that catch down the middle, went up against three hawks and came down with the rock, never seen anything like it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,587 ✭✭✭Berty44

    Coach of the Year: Raiders
    Best Newcomer: Seahawks
    Best Offense: Pittsburg Steelers
Best Defense: Chargers ( Shane Cos, took me too long to figure it out )
    Quarterback of the Year: RG3
Running Back of the Year: MJD
Wide Receiver of the Year: DeSean Jackson
Tight End of the Year: Jermaine Gresham
Defensive Player of the Year: Trent Cole
    MVP: RGIII

You guys are all nuts. Gronk did a far superior job than Stupid Gresham. :pac:

Same avg yards per catch, same amount of receiving TD's, same avg yards after catch, 1/3 the amount of drops that Stupid Gresham had, and his longest was a whole yard longer!

Answer me this, did Stupid Gresham have any rushing TD's this season?

    Coach of the Year: Jags
    Best Newcomer:Who is eligible? Seahawks,Dolphins?
    Best Offense: Raiders
    Best Defense: Chiefs
Quarterback of the Year: Jason Merian, RG3 had 70 sacks, 70?
Running Back of the Year: MJD
Wide Receiver of the Year: Calvin JR
Tight End of the Year: Gronk
    Defensive Player of the Year:
    *MVP: MJD

RG3 would be scrambling alot I imagine, higher sack count

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,825 ✭✭✭Mikeyt086

Also, how is being sacked 70 times a negative on the QB? Surely it's actually a plus, he has the incredible stats he has despite a seemingly porous O-Line.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

RG3 and Cam are 2 of the most sacked QBs in the league. They also are probably the best at running. Neither O-line is porous in the slightest, the sacks are just when you try to scramble and get tripped up.

It's a triple reverse, HB pass, QB rollout, LG Draw fumblerooksi play-action hailmary TE keeper >_>

Nah, for some reason Gronk becomes the FB in the pro formation, and it was a FB run on the goal line.

Even if you have one he might be gassed so a TE or who ever is next on the depth chart takes the FB position

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,455 ✭✭✭davetherave

No, still have Kettani. He shows up out of the I, strong I, weak I, Goal line, just for some reason Gronk gets subbed in to the FB position when a play out of the pro set from the gun is called.
You can see it at 3:56 in this video. Gun - Split Patriot. #87 is in the backfield

Then it is just a case of the Dark Lord Belichick trying to create favorable matchups.

Most tight ends are awesome as full backs because of their speed, catching and run blocking. I played Heath Miller as a FB for most of the season, he was better thank Hester. Hester played tight end, thats why Hester had all the yards and TDs and got more pro-bowl votes than Leach
