For Jesus Sake ... would they just scrap the clamp altogether.

Tow away would be the best option, immobilizing a vehicle somewhere its not supposed to be in the first place makes no sense whatsoever.

If its not obstructing anything just issue a parking ticket that goes to the registered owner.

Would save costs on clamps, staff, admin, vans and all sorts.

Back in 06 or 07 I did a job for a few months near Grand Canal Dock. There was a Mazda MX-5 parked there, she just cam every morning, parked, never paid and was clamped pretty much every day that we were there for 3 months.

Never understood why a person would willingly do this or why any company would pay that money if it was the case.
