What do you make of these fine folks?

I find them somewhat strange and interesting myself. Also a bit mysterious with their unusual customs.

My neighbours are Russians just to add and they are fond of wood chopping.

the new rich russians are brats and i've seen them behaving like animals in Geneva nightclubs when I was living there. Historically it is one of my favourite counties though, with an extremly interesting history and many of their historic figures portray the russians and being extremely reislient,intelligent and somewhat crazy!

Worked with a few Russians, would talk about Dostoyevsky all day long and have really intelligent conversations with them. Same men could kick the livin shiiite outta you if they wanted. Seriously hard as fck people,but warm also. Good folks

Not many people know this but partially due to mass conscription and the fact that hand-to-hand combat skills and physical fitness are given a significantly higher priority in the Russian military than any other country in the world, there's more martial arts experts/black belts in Russia than anywhere else. Both in real numbers and per head of population. They also never wear shoes indoors (in someone's home I mean) and it's considered very rude not to remove your shoes immediately when entering somebody's house.

Once you get to know them they are warm and hospitable people with a dark sense of humor. Some lovely cuisine with many different cultures especially from the Caucuses. They also seem to be well read as literature seems to play a huge role in their lives. With wages quite low, particularly government jobs, there is corruption but it just seems to be accepted over there as part and parcel of life.

My Russian neighbour gave me an Ushanka , I like to think he wore it fighting in Afghanistan or Chechnya , I gave him some Guinness in return.

The Ushanka is the hat , not the young one.

Have Russian neighbors, the family are quite sound fairly average people. There 18 year old son on the other hand is a ****e bag...hes had a few run ins with other neighbors

Got to know a very nice Russian, one of the nicest people I've ever meet but anyone I know who has been there says the people are horrible! I think they are one of those you have to know them races unlike those magnificent Orange people.
