So bit of advise needed looking at vw caddy around 05 early new model or maybe ford transit connect to me they seem at bit more than a van compared to berlingo and kangoo, what I mean by but more of a van more car like as may have to use for child sometimes. Any advise would be great on all vans of this size. Pros and cons for above models thanks.

if it were me i'd go for a caddy. connect is a good strong van but more rough around the edges. for carrying kids the caddy is most comfortable and car like. I don't like berlingos or kangoos, don't rate them at all. just my opinion, hope it helps.

Anyone know what to look out for when buying a 05/06 year old Caddy and also what mileage should a van this age have approx.

If going with a caddy buy a 1.9tdi not a 2.0 sdi matter how much cheaper they are. The 1.9 makes the van reasonably nice to drive. The 2.0 is slow compared to the 1.9.

The SEAT box van is (or used to be, at any rate) identical to the Caddy but wouldn't have cost as much first day and wouldn't keep its value so well, so it's worth looking for one of these before a Caddy.

I've never understood why anyone would buy a Caddy. Makes no sense at all.

think its the seat inca you mean. they stopped making them in 2003 before the new model caddy was brought out.

If one of these were big enough for you they are a decent van. More economical and comfortable too.

Yikes, is it really that long ago!? You're right though, in hindsight I can't remember seeing any of the new shape ones.

EDIT: I had a 2l of the previous generations of the Astravan, which is very close to the above, and I loved it. Really enjoyed driving it and the load bay was surprisingly roomy, for an estate size van of course.
