Can you use the RTE Player on it?

I bought this for £110 in January :(

Great piece of kit and would highly recommend, especially if you don't have a smart TV

    Hmmm... tempting.

And I see there's a way of changing regions too, which is always a must.

Okay... major problem... doesn't seem to support DivX / XVid, according to some reviews.... I'm out.

I bought this to go with the 42" LG 3D in the other thread. I received it yesterday and set it up. Great piece of kit for the price. Netflix and you tube run well on it and blu ray and MKV playback is great.
The Wifi set up was very straighforward.

    DivX HD

With support for all popular HD video formats, your LG can play back video downloaded from the internet on the big screen, all in pristine high definition. With DivX HD video, you get the same pristine picture you expect from HD video, but without the limitations.

My LG Surround sound blu ray all in one also supports 1080P DIVX/XVID and even supports NTFS even though it only mentioned FAT.

    Thanks... okay, have ordered it.
My old dvd player was getting a little noisy.

I bought this for around the same price before Christmas. Fantastic player, receives consistent software updates and will play back almost anything you throw at it.

DNS can be changed for Netflix purposes. YouTube app supports phone linking. Haven't managed to get the iplayer to work through.

Only downsides are jerky mp4 playback (just remux everything to mkv, mp4 is a terrible container anyway) and button layout inconsistency between apps.

Oh and if u plan on streaming high bitrate content best pick up a pair of powerline adapters to go with it. The built-in wifi is good enough for Netflix though.

I can't physically confirm it until I get it, but I did find this link to a remote control sequence which "should" make it region free.

That seems to only be for region-free DVD. It'd be interesting to see if also makes BD region-free

It shows who your buying from somewhere in the app, cant remember the exact location.

Apparently if shipping is free it usually mane its being fulfilled through amazon.
Thier customer service seems to be great so im not too worried.
Dont take my word for it tho :P

Is this fast loading for Blurays. My existing BR Player is painfully slow.

1 minute to start the film proper or to load up the disc?

1 minute to the film proper,it loads the disc in about 10-15 secs.
It loads a Dvd in seconds.

Very nice Bluray player,I have the BP520,it has played everything I have thrown at it.
It also has optical out and the the remote is very good .

    Bloody Amazon.

Ordered at 12:50 and they won't let me cancel/chnage delivery address at 13:30pm.

It'll go to a Post Office Depot now.

This is probably a stupid question but I am a tech-idiot, I bought a 5.1 1000W LG player about 5 years ago and I would like to upgrade to blue-ray/3D but keep the speakers I have from the old system as the sound quality is excellent. Would it be possible to connect the 5.1 speakers to this DVD player?

If your 5.1 amp has an optical audio input then yes you can connect it up.

    Got 12% off with Flubit.

    Very tempting.

I just checked my DVD player and it has an optical audio input, does this mean I have to connect the blue ray/3D player to the old DVD player to get 5.1?
