    It's got Nathan Fillion!!

That's all they needed to show me TBH but the rest of the trailer is also relatively encouraging.

well got round to watching this today (2d version)

i thought this was great !

its a kiddies film first and foremost. my main view of the film was "if i was 12 i'd fupping LOVE this" as it reminded me of all the inoffensive action/fantasy/adventure films i used to see back in the 80s.

now dont get me wrong, as a 40yr old i had a blast at this too, but its definetly aimed at that tween market.

fecking thing is even subversely educational. theres a fair big scene where they end up encountering charybdis and for the life of me i couldnt remember the name of its couterpart in greek mythology.

sure enough at the end of that set peice scylla gets a name check :D

its been that long since this thread came out i forgot all about nathan fillion being in it in a cameo role and i found myself smiling to myself like a fool the whole time he was on. im pretty sure he even make a firefly reference at one point !

anthony head is in this too for the old school buffy fans.

they do some nice thing with tropes of greek mythology and while the showdown with chronos is a CGI letdown its still holds together as a very enjoyable experience.

i suppose the annoying thing about the chronos character is the sea horse thingy earlier was done VERY well and was practically channelling "never ending story" for me :D

certainly the kids (circa 10yr of age or so) behind me seemed to love it and made all sorts of "jaysus" type noises at the appropriate places.

i dont know if a third is already comissioned but its set up for one

    7/10

enjoyed this more than the first, though that probably might be because it kicks off straight from the batt with a great sequence involving a mechanical bull and keeps going without having to do too much establishing.

Is Fillion's role only a cameo?

Having read the books, I assumed it was from the start.

Encouragingly, if they decide to make more in the series, he is likely to reappear a few times.
