Hi help for a new camera guy

    Hi,
    thanks for your help in advance. Im new to photography. I have always have a camera but its always been a cheap camera i bought just to have a camera. Now i want to get into it and have the choose between a nikon d3000 and a nikon d80. i have some lenses with them but i dont know which one to take im very new to this but would love a good easy star thanks

    I shoot Canon so I'm not up to speed on all Nikon products, but I believe the d80 would be better built and have similar spec in terms of megapixels and image quality. You might prefer the more modern D3000 though for the bigger LCD screen, and lighter body.

    Regarding lenses, it depends what you plan on shooting. Wide lenses are good for landscapes, while long telephoto lenses are good for sports and wildlife. For portraits, around 50mm-100 is about right. What do you plan on shooting?
