As per the thread title, is this possible?

I got a jumper online, and it's a different pink in reality than how it appeared online, and I don't really like. However, I have the jumper in grey and LOVE it, it is very practical and warm, so I'd like to keep the pink one.

Anything I've looked up says that there should be 50% cotton or more for effective dyeing, my jumper is 30% cotton. :( Has anyone ever dyed cotton/poly blend with a lower than 50% cotton content?

Whether you dye it as poly (which would be wise due to heat levels) or cotton, you will not get an exactly accurate colour, but will probably get a rather attractive slightly mottled look. I would dye it as poly and let the cotton take care of itself.

Oh yeah, I'm expecting it'll be a lot lighter a colour than if I was dying a pure natural fibre. Mottled might look quite nice!

If you use grey, it may have very little effect, you may have to dye it again with black, to get a kind or grey.

Standard dye (eg Dylon or Rit) will only work on natural fabrics. As Looksee says, you might get a mottled look ... or a paler shade ... or it might wash right out again! Personally I have found that Rit works on a slightly better range of fabrics.
You could try Poly iDye which is specifically for polyester, since that's 70% of your material.

I have heard (not tried it myself) that you can use normal dye with vinegar as a fixative instead of salt and that apparently works on synthetics. I repeat, I haven't tried this myself and you would definitely need to wash the garment separately for at least the first few washes to make sure the colour didn't run and stain your other clothes.
