Ive a slightly odd problem in charging my asus k53e.
It appears as though there is an issue with the power jack connection in that as the machine warms up I have to wiggle the connection alittle to make it charge. This is a common enough problem I guess but what I find strange is the extreme heat produced at the connector. It really would burn you if you touch the metal connector after pulling it out of the machine. Additionally, if I charge it with the machibe turned off, it still takes a bit of a wiggle to get it charging but the heat produced is then back to normal levels and it can remain plugged in for hours like this yet after 10 mins plugged in while the machine is running, the connection is dangerously hot.
Do I have other issues or us it simply a dodgy power jack connection. The connection is just as tight as it was when new.

I managed to fix this issue. Pulled apart the laptop as id got a new power jack for it. Found that the power pin coming out the back of the jack going into the board had cracked and was only carrying current when forced together. It was reasonably ok when cool but I guess when some heat was produced, contact was lost or was intermittant leading to the heating I was getting.
