Tonight, WWE is taping this week's edition of Raw from The IZOD Center in East Rutherford, NJ. The show will of course feature all the fallout from WrestleMania 29, and the following is being advertised:

-The Rock is being advertised to appear
-Chris Jericho is being advertised to appear
-Brock Lesnar, Triple H and The Undertaker are NOT advertised to appear for the show, however if they are still in New Jersey anything is possible as The IZOD Center is next to MetLife Stadium, the site of last night's PPV.
-Kurt Warner is the advertised Guest Star of tonight's Raw, as he will be promoting his new USA show "The Moment."

Please don't have The rock attack Cena to set up Rock/Cena III

Paul Heyman has some serious explaining to do.

My favourite Raw of the year!!! We normally get somebody debuting on the Raw post Mania

Don't be surprised if the rating if down as Raw is up against the March Madness college basketball final.

None of the big three matches last night need a follow up though do they? Cena/Rock are done, same with HHH/Lesnar (I presume) Taker prob wont be there so nothing for Punk to do?

    Need, no

    Will get, probably.

Would it surprise anyone if they tease Rock/Cena III?

Nope, Punk/Taker II I'd like though.

Some light in the fact that there should be no 20 minute HHH promo that literally nobody will care about.

The fact Rock is there worries me of a Rock Cena III. Please please don't do it.

Last year this Raw was pretty great with the return of Lesnar and the constant D.Bryan chants - they really need to pull something out of the bag here.

surprised they didnt use The Garden for tonight's show.

given the blandness of last night, I'd say the biggest "shock" they'll be able to muster will be the return of Christian.

Rock is booked for Extreme Rules isnt he? they'd hardly have him face Cena again? but who else is there?

He probably will. Doesnt the former champion get an automatic rematch?

    Brock vs Rock maybe?

Edit: I forgot about the automatic rematch clause Rock gets.

Rock is owed a re-match. Part of the stip when losing the WWE title is that you get a re-match.

I actually wouldn't mind Rock/Cena for a final time at Extreme Rules (or even on Raw tonight), I mean it's tied at 1-1 now so I could see them doing another match to release a Best of Three DVD.

A lot of haters of Rock (and I've criticised him on here as well) but I'd say a lot of us would miss him when he's gone. The build to his match with Cena wasn't great, but nonetheless I still really enjoyed seeing him on Raw every week, he adds a charisma that nobody else on the roster can match.

I reckon WWE have bloody well thought about putting on a third mania match :pac:

Guess it comes down to if they think it would sell or not. Would alot of fans wanna see round 3? ... I dont :pac:

    Brock vs Rock maybe?

I read somewhere (probably Lordz of Painz) that that's the early plan for Wrestlemania 30.

He can still be in WWE and not feuding with Cena you know :P Rock vs Brock, Rock vs Orton, Rock vs HHH, Rock vs Sheamus, Rock vs The Shield....loads of options still there.

Wouldn't surprise me though if we get...

"Rock wants a rematch, but I'm not going to wait a year like you Cena. I want MY rematch at Extreme Rules."

As for Punk/Taker II, I'd rather we get a tease and build to Cena/Taker now...

Yeah we may well see one or two of those, guess it depends on what contract he's signed or will sign.

    Rumours going around that
    Corey Graves
is going to have his debut tonight.

    I approve, if so.

Rock and Cena to team up with someone to take on the Shield would be a good angle that I wouldn't mind seeing.

Apparently Rock isn't there tonight and there was a confrontation scheduled with Brock

    Big news.

    Furthering on from this:
According to wrestlingobserver.com, there is panic backstage at Raw right now. The show was scheduled to build to a segment where Brock Lesnar beat up Rock to set up next year's WrestleMania main event. The problem: Rock is not there and has reportedly gone home. Vince McMahon, the writers and producers are in the process of redoing the show, evidently believing the angle has been nixed. Nobody knows any details as to what happened past that. As of this time, the belief is that Rock is not appearing.

Also, there is a second major angle tonight to set up the main feud going forward and the Extreme Rules main event involving John Cena's next title defense. Word is that it is one of the things that has been planned for some time and was actually scheduled before Mania.
Wonder whats the reason for him no showing?

Cena wil bury him tonight Id say.

I hope they are not working the observer for lols!

It would always have shocked me to see Brock and himself with how rough Brock is.

Was my initial reaction. It's the start of Rock vs Cena III. Have Rock "no show", have Cena slate him for being a bad loser, year long build of Vince and Cena saying Rock took his ball and went home, etc etc.

Eek that actually sound like a good storyline for them two.

After last night I can't see Rock having any interest in another Cena match anyway.

Maybe rock is reacting to his reaction from last night. He always said he came back for the fans and now it might seem that the fans arent happy anymore so he would walk away before he is booed entirely.

If Rock/Cena III is going to happen I hope that they just do it at Extreme Rules and not wait for next year. Or better yet add someone else and make it a triple threat.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 280 ✭✭Yousef

Anyone think Rock was pissed at the way things went last night?

The post-match messing around was so horribly orchestrated by the guys in the back...it was cringing.

5 seconds after Cena won, Rocks music started playing. I remember people on here asking why it was Rocks music and not Cena's even though Cena had the title in his hands...

My guess is that WWE knew only too well of the backlash and went straight to Rocks theme to scramble any boo's or reaction from the crowd. Yeah, it was a "pass the torch" moment but Rock saluting Cena....Rock just looked totally disinterested. Judging by his facial reactions...I don't think he was feeling the moment at all.

Of course this doesnt give him reason to act like a diva but....it's a strange story.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,788 ✭✭✭✭krudler

would be class to see Brock stiff the absolute crap out of Rock, that's what you get for never learning how to do a sharpshooter properly :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,788 ✭✭✭✭krudler

The entire main event last night had a weird, weird vibe, it felt really rushed, the timing from both guys was all over the place, would love to know what Cena was yelling at the ref at the beginning, there's a whole botchamania from that match alone :D

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,520 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

Yeah. That could make sense that he is reacting to last night (assuming the news is true!)

so i'm still thinking there is some sort of hype element to this news leak.

Not sure why Rock has any right to be p*ssed off about last night. Nobody did more than him to drag the main event down.

to be honest I don't think Rock really wanted to be there at all.
since day 1 of his return it's all been about plugging movies to save his acting career, and his near phoning it in last night was testament to that.

I think it's good to start WM30 build up now.

Last night was a clear indication that 4/5 weeks promos before your biggest show really cripples the event itself. It's just not long enough and it really showed last night. I just couldn't stop thinking that it was rushed....

I hope this Brock/Rock angle is touched upon over the next 12 months. A few appearances here, a few confrontations there, some crap talking here, some stare-downs and talk appearances/public bashing there....
Then after RR, go into overdrive...week in, week out! I hope the match is officially announced soon. No point in dragging it out.

One direction they should go with it is a no-physicality one. Remember HHH/Bastista just after Evolution split up? They never touched each other for months. And because of that, WM when they finally got in the ring together....it just seemed... right. It added something to the match the fact that these guys were actually physically fighting.

This is something they should do with Lesnar/Rock. Any scuffles or crappy tag-matches at SS or whatever will just subtract from that.

    I dunno.
Someone posted on reddit that some of what was said between rock and cena was:
Cena said "from the day I walked into that gym in California when I was 20 years old and I saw you, I knew that's what I wanted to be. I wanted to be WWE Champion. Thank you." Rock replied "This moment, this moment is why I came back. I came back for them, but I came back for you. This moment was for you."

Mixed in with cena refusing to repeat what rock said in a post match interview i think he was taken back by what rock had to say and for that reason i believe what rock done was honest and had a positive reason behind it and not whatever you're trying to make of it.

To quote the miz, Really, really, really :P. His career doesnt need saving, fast 5 was a huge grossing movie when it was released and Fast 6 is going to the same and probably more business financially, even GI Joe has done good business, i dont think movie career is in need of saving.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,788 ✭✭✭✭krudler

He has a big movie out right now, Pain & Gain will prob do well, and Fast Six is out at the summer, thats three decent sized films, his acting career is fine, now that he's realised that doing sh1tty kids movies isnt the way to go.

Completely agree. If anything Rock's movie career is better now than it ever was. He's the go to action star at the moment.

I think he came back genuinely wanting another run for the fans and for his own personal kicks but towards the end seemed disinterested and unmotivated. The original feud and build up was great but they used everything for Rock v Cena 1.

All they had for Rock v Cena 2 was Cena wanting to avenge his loss, so it was very meh, and the Rock probably felt that. The Rock had so little motivation other then, "I've done it once, I can do it again". That match didn't even need to be for the title. I know Cena 'won' the right to face The Rock, but becoming WWE champ was a side-issue.

Maybe the reason he has'nt showed up is, he just got p1ssed off having to walk up the ramp after losing and pointlessly endorse a fella who has already been shoved down people's throats for the last 10 years.
