    Excellent Dutch film from 2008.

Holland under the jackboot of occupation, resistance, collaboration, informers and their effects on a 14 year old and his family...

Great film, one of the best WW2 films I've seen in recent years. You should check out Max Manus, The Army Of Crime and Flame&Citron as well.

Great little film all right, it and the other excellent films you recommend are all on Netflix Ireland and Netflix US, I would also recommend "Sophie Scholl" "Days Of Glory", "The Counterfeiters" and "A Woman In Berlin", all excellent WW2 based films on Netflix to.

Carice Van Houten, never got close to topping this role. although she's in Games of Thrones.

Directed by Paul Verhoeven (Robocop and Basic Instinct) who actually made a way better film about World War 2 called Soilders of Orange with Rutger Hauer.Made in the 70's its probably Verhoeven greatest film.

Europa Europa is another brillant war film about a young Jewish teenager in WW2.

The Counterfeiters is such a great movie especially the performance from the lead actor. A Woman in Berlin was good but a tad overlong. Days of Glory was brillant. Sophie Scholl i haven't seen.

Flame and Citron is another overlooked gem. Mads Mikelsson is brillant as always as is Thure Lindhardt.

Fateless, 14-year-old György's life is torn apart in World War II Hungary as he is sent to a concentration camp where he is forced to become a man, and learns to find happiness in the midst of hatred, and what it really means to be Jewish. Has a cameo from Daniel Craig but is a very good film with a great performance from Marcel Nagy as the young boy.

Totally agree, checked out his recent one called "Deadfall" on account of that, awful piece of shiite no better than any regular Hollywood crap, like the Coens turning into Michael Bay, avoid.
