2units/acre/day from now to your expected cutting date.

What do you mean by "unit" ?

It's the old way of counting it TBH. It basically amounts to .5kg/acre. So 1x50kgbag urea @46% N contains 23kgs of N but 46 units. 1x50kg bag of CAN @27%N has 13.5kgs of N but 27 units. So if you are intending to harvest silage on 15th May then that's 37 days so 75-80 units will be enough N for that crop.

    Hello, nice topic.
I see you talking about urea and can only. Does that mean you don't put any p and k back into the ground?
New to farming and wondering whats the best fertiliser to put out per acre for silage.
Also do you spread the same manure/quantity for both cuts?
    Thanks in advance.

Has anyone any idea what the formula for converting units/acre to kg/ha of fertiliser is.

    Multiply units by 1.25.
