Maternity benefit suggestion please

    Hi
Need some suggestions on my maternity benefit query
I'm currently pregnant and soon to go on my maternity. Leave.
My employer will not be topping up on the social welfare benefit.
I know from this year the maternity benefit will be taxed.
First question - who will calculate and deduct the tax for this benefit?

    Second query
    I'm currently employed.
My husband is a contractor and has a ltd company.
I'm the second director of his ltd company and also secretary too.
I don't take out any pay from his ltd company.
Since my current employer is not topping up the maternity benefit I was wondering if my lhusbands ltd company can collect the maternity benefit and topping it up..
    Is this possible?
If the answer is yes, then I will have to pay the tax for the full salary that his ltd company pays me.
I'm not sure if this approach is beneficial in terms of tax savings.

    Any suggestions?
