Opel Zafira or Citroen C4 Grand Piccasso

Looking for a 7 seater manual diesel, 08 or slightly newer. Trying to do some homework on it. Found the Zafira is as good value as the C4.

Whats the difference in tax bands between the 2?
Which would be more economical (Zafira is 1.9d, C4 is 1.6d)

The Citroen i think is the nicer car, looks better, possibly larger and better spec. I am a little worried with the reliability of the citroen?

    Any views appreciated.

Its down to what we can afford and these 7 seater MPVs seem best value.

I possibly would consider pre 08, but then a 1.9 would be at least 710 a year to tax (Not taking in any more tax hikes) and we would consider keeping the car if reliable for a few good years.

    We changed a Zaferia for a C4GP.
The Citroen is definitely a much bigger car inside. It's also infinitely more comfortable on longer journies.

Then there is the issue with raising the rear seats in the Zaferia. You have to slide the middle row forward, which means if you have a child seat fitted it needs to be removed. So to raise the rear seat can be a big deal. With the Citroen there is no such problem.

We've had the Citroen two years and bar the clutch needing replacement it has gone well. That cost €450 at the main dealer. It's an '08, manual box and does about 45mpg.
