I am trying to develop a diet which i can maintain (any advice appreciated) I have cut back all my food intake and have shed a few pounds over the last few weeks, which i am pleased with but i dont think my excercise is as intense as it should be. I know weight cant be spot reduced but it doesnt seem to be shifting from my upper body

Everyone is different and want works for me doesn't have to do a thing for you

My suggestion are two: Clean Eating and Paleo

As I said... this works for me and my body

The paleo diet looks perfect compared to the other diets i have read about. low carbs and good protein levels, just what what i need :) .
I was considering doing the SacredHeartDiet, guaranteed to lose weight but it is not a sustainable diet and weight gain after it would be hard to manage.
