Kensington Laptop power charger "beeping" ?

I use a Kensington power charger on my laptop, but the charger has started "beeping" over the last couple of days, and now the 'power light' is not lighting up , meaning no power to the laptop. I have used another power charger, and the laptop is working fine. The charger cost me e95 and is around a year old... :(
