Whats the best thing you ever found? Did you look for the owner or did you just keep it for yourself?

I found a gold chain on the forecourt of a petrol station and left it in behind the counter. It was claimed but they did leave me 20 quid as thanks.

My dog went missing today, she vanished into thin air. I was in such a panic and spent over 1 hour calling her name before leaving to get more people to help me look. As I was almost at my front door a girl appeared around the corner with my dog in tow. Have spent the day trying to figure out where she went.

Found a diamond ring on the main street one day years ago on route for a pint. Left it into the barracks and it was never claimed. A year and a day later it was mine!

Was travelling home from work on a rainy Winters night years ago , one of those nights where the windscreen wipers were even getting worried about the falling rain , anyway I noticed that I was short of petrol ... when low and behold I found a petrol station.

Found €500 on the floor of a shop. The good citizen that I am, I handed it into the post office, which is at the back of the shop I was in. The following week when I was there again, the owner of the money had left a €40 reward for me. Sweet. :)

Found a €50 note on the cistern in a pub. It was left behind by somebody snorting a white powder. I was in college at the time, had about 20 quid for the week coming, but of course I drank it all that night instead of feeding myself!

€400 in a carpark. Someone had dropped a bundle of €50 notes. Noone in the carpark except for 2 ladies chatting in the middle. I picked up the notes and approached the 2 ladies to ask if someone had dropped money or anything. They looked me up and down and ignored me. So I went into the shop to ask if anyone had been in looking for money they may have lost. Didn't mention how much. Early Sunday so none in there shopping at the time, had to ask a staff member on the floor. Noone looking for it. I assumed it belonged to one of the ladies but when I went back out, they were gone. Can't recall what I spent it on. Was broke at the time so most likely overdue bills and some shopping :/

Found a phone - answered the phone when the owner's parents called it and planned to meet them at a local shopping centre to hand it back. Mother very thankful and gave me chocs and wine, father looked at me as if I had stolen the phone (I hadn't)

Bush porn!!:D Ahhh those where the days. God I'm old. BUt still WTF was it with Jazz Magazines showing up in shrubbery in the olden days?

Best thing I've found? Well I found a load of fossils when I was a kid, better yet some Neandertal stone tools I found on holiers in Spain and France. That was V cool(for me). I found a rusted to feck gun wrapped in the remains of a sack while fishing once. It had been a Mauser C96(Han Solo's pistol for the geeks out there :)). Oh and a Byzantine cross/reliquary that was a thousand years old. Still have it.

Money? Not a single pfennig I'm afraid, nor cool phones or anything like that.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Was on holidays years ago and got robbed. After a miserable day cancelling my cards etc, I decided I'd go for a couple of beers to cheer myself up. Found over 200 quid on the ground along the way. No one around, so just pocketed it

As a child, watching a digger doing some excavation work, I found an old antique bottle....then another....and another...until my friend and I had gathered up around 250 old bottles (including the old crockery beer bottles with publican's names on them).
The location may have been some kind of turn of the century rubbish tip
I cherished them, unti I came home from school one day, and discovered my mother had tipped them all back in the rubbish.
I like to remind her of this trauma as often as possibe.

The OH uncle found a bag with over 60000 quid in it on the side of a road. The honest citizen he was, he handed it into a garda station. The owner of the money was never found but it mysteriously vanished. We all thought it was drug money.

I would have kept myself too. Would have had a great time with it.

Stuff I have found was a phone and €50. I did lose my wallet once while in college. It had over 300 in it. Thanks to some nice person it was handed into the college and I got it back with all the money inside.
