Anyone buy any of the team gear from amazon? Yes yes I know team gear is for team riders but ive been looking for some reasonably price gear and this stuff seems to be some of the cheapest! I know its not the real deal obviously but is it good quality? a full long sleeve/leggings suit for 5o yo-yos seems good to me

i placed an order or two, had my doubts and when I asked questions my order was refunded in full. A lot of it is knock off stuff

I just placed an order so I guess I will wait and see, hoping that cos it's through a reputable company like amazon I won't have any customs issues or problems with return if quality is poor

Have to say ebay scares the **** out of me, I bought on there before and never got my kit cos customs got it and they told me tough luck, the seller was clever they said delivery was 31 days or something, what ever 1 day after the date you can reclaim your paypal payment. Ebay refused to get involved and help me out. So i would never buy on ebay again

Why did customs keep it? They usually
Only want a few quid from you.

What do you mean customs told you tough luck? That's not the way it works with customs. If there is a value marked then they charge you VAT on the cost of the goods plus the shipping. If there is no value they send you a form to fill out and ask you to provide an invoice for the price you paid (PayPal receipt is acceptable) and they charge you according to the cost on the invoice/receipt. They do not simply refuse to send you the goods

I have bought from Monton several times now. Really good quality especially the fleece gear. Got caught once for customs fees but the rest of the times the gear arrived and nothing extra to pay.

You get what you pay for..if its cheap it's cheap, I'd only buy cycling stuff from reputable brands :) (probikekit, prendas etc)

It's the Revenue that police Customs duties, not Amazon;)

I meant the seller told me tough luck, I got a letter from customs saying it was being destroyed. i was never asked to pay any extra by customs the letter just said it was counterfeit and that it would be destroyed as it was tagged as adidas and wasn't. Ebay refused to get involved and neither would paypal. Ive never used either since

I wouldn't bother with shorts on ebay as the chamois tends to be poor quality.
The jerseys are fine though, as good as 'genuine' jerseys imo.
(Most of the 'genuine' jerseys are probably made in the Far East anyway)
Do an ebay Worldwide search for 'cycling jersey hot' and see what you find.

I think customs can seize items and destroy them if they are counterfeit. It happened to a friend of mine with football jerseys. He got a letter to say they were not going to be delivered to him, he rang them and they just hung up on him!

You have a certain level of protection when you pay by PayPal, which you could have pursued.

I would only ever buy from a seller with sufficiently high and clear feedback. If buying clothing i'd ask in advance if what they are selling is genuine or not - and generally if its not genuine a seller would tell you to avoid hassle later.

Letape yeah but the company were smart they shipped the order the day the term of appeal ended with paypal. I hadnt read the small print so i appealled to paypal and they told me i was past the date of appeal So bad luck.

They obviously knew what they were doing. PayPal don't always help I my experience anyway. I bought a north face jacket, which was clearly fake. However, I needed to prove it was not genuine, which was very hard to do, so I was stuck with it!

All you can do is try and research your seller in advance.

I've dropped around 6-7 grand on eBay on about 6-700 items since 2006 and have
never ever been stung once ;)
