My omega seamaster stopped recently and I feared the worst
With money tight sending it to Omega was simply a non runner
I sent it to Emily in watchrepairs.ie
In addition to the service Emily noted a spring had popped out causing the stoppage
She fixed this at no extra charge while the watch was given a full service for 120e and returned within 3 weeks
Since I got the watch back it hasn't missed a minute and is running better than ever
I really couldn't recommend the quality of the service highly enough

Good to hear but three weeks is a long time to wait and 120 is the standard cost for a service.

Really? that's be great - but sadly not my experience.

In a well-known authorised Breitling dealer in Cork, my Aerospace service cost at least 50% more to service and I was waiting 3 months!

I'll be using Emily's service soon.

Wish I could convince her to service a slightly vintage Heuer. I even have the parts. Sobs :(:(:D

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

I was quoted 220 in a well known Dublin spot (for a standard mechanical), thought 120 was quite good when I read it.

Three weeks for a full service on an auto that you post in, is certainly not a long wait.

    That's sounds a great service.

Try shopping around. The fella I go to does an automatic service for 120. Normally non automatics are cheaper but I do not know the price.
The big dealers in the city centre charge a fortune, the smaller guys in the burbs a lot less.

    And there is no postage!

To add to the perspective others have given, I was quoted approx €280 + 2 months for Panerai to fix a broken winding stem.

Wow, that is a lot of cash for a piece of metal.. How much did watchrepairs charge?

You mentioned "standard" in your 1st post, but this description above seems at odds.

To be fair to WRI (I have no connection) they are approved by the British Horological Institute (only one in Ireland?) so I don't think its fair to compare them to "a smaller guy in the burbs".

WRI are competing with the big guys, and, it appears doing it well.

I have to say, I wouldn't give my Breitling Aerospace to someone who couldn't convince me of their expertise.

As others have mentioned, €120 and 3 weeks seems like an excellent deal from a reputable and approved horologist.

Fair enough, if they are approved by omega, breitling etc then that is a good price. That was not clear to me!

Went looking for them today in South William Street and couldn't find sight nor sound of them. Ended up in Stephens Green SC instead.

Yeah, that's where i was alright, the ground floor is calling itself "Project 51" now and had arts and crafts stuff. There was a door inside, to the side, going upstairs, but it was for something like a tanning place or something like that (kind of forget exactly) so I didn't explore that further - if they are there, they need to get some signage up! :)

Yep, I stood outside the building scratching my head for a few minutes on Saturday (granted, this was outside of their opening hours), but there is no indication at all that the business is set up there.
