    Hi all,

I booked tickets via Emirates though Dubai on mistaken assumption that anything over 8 hours gets you free accommodation. Turns out you also have to spend more than €1,000 per ticket. Does anyone have any recommendation of accommodation near airport?

The Snoozecubes might be an option that would work out cheaper and easier to get to than an actual hotel, though really anywhere cool would have done me in Dubai airport. I thought it was hellish and I was only there for about three hours.
Everywhere in the airport seemed full of sweaty people lying around waiting.

these cube things are probably the best option really as Dubai hotels are not that cheap. those snoozecubes aren't that cheap really either but probably cheaper than getting a taxi in and out of the airport and getting a hotel. prices here. spend 4 or 5 hours in there for a kip....

We flew with emirates last month with 9hr lay over paid €680 for flight, rang emirates office and they said ticket was to cheap and not entitled to lay over hotel, about a month before we were to fly I was checking manage my booking and up on it was that we were entitled to lay over hotel it's called the copthorne hotel... You get picked up at airport we had a big twin room(basic) and buffet breakfast in the morning and bus back to airport all included!!
When pass the security in dubai before you leave the main doors to go out to the street, hang a left and right down the end of the area you'll find the emirates collection point for the hotel.
Keep an eye on your manage my booking its very easy to book the hotel when it comes up, oh also after booking your bags in at dublin airport head to there emirates desk just below the check in desk and they'll give you your hotel voucher..... Try and book seats with two by the selfs at the back.
Hope this helps we found emirates brilliant for the price we paid.
