Getting a smell out of a cardigan (hope this is the right forum!)

    Hey,

I spilled some food on a cardigan of mine, and when it was in the laundry basket for a few days before washing, a puke-sort-of smell seems to hae 'settled' where the food stain was. I've washed it twice now, and while the smell has got less, short of washing it over + over, is there anything good for getting out funny smells from clothes?

    Thanks!

Baking soda would be the safest option. Make a paste and leave it to sit on the cardi before hand rinsing and machine washing. If the cardi is a dark colour, make a watery paste otherwise make a thick paste that will still permeate the cardi.

After that try soda water but that will really only hid the smell for a few wears, baking soda seems to neutralise it.
