Bit of Irish interest this week so should probably have its own thread.
Harrington going nicely at -4 and tied for the lead currently. McIlroy back to -1 after 3 bogies on the spin looked to ruin his day.
Lowry will be out in the last group then this afternoon.

Great to see Harrington back up around the top where he should be.

    Jaysus,

Lee Janzen near top - there is a flash from the past.

Shane looks good for a birdie try on his 5th - good par save from 20 ft on last.

Would love to see him make cut.

mockers on him again. I've been watching him on shot tracker a bit - without looking at stats - you get the feeling he misses a few short ones.

    Choice language from Poults there.

Finally we see him on TV and a cracker of a 2nd on 17. Inches for birdie

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 714 ✭✭✭loadwire

Gets it back at the next, back to level.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 714 ✭✭✭loadwire

Birdies 18 to go -1. Keep it going on the front 9 Shane!

Eagle on 2 to go 3 under. Brilliant stuff.

Bogeys the third, back to -2, pity. It's a rollercoaster following Shane on shottracker but I'm gonna hit the sack, hopefully he can stay under par, give himself another good chance to make the cut.

Friday avo in the office and I get this:

Live scoring is currently unavailable at this time.

    FFS

I've tipped Bettencourt over on the Golf Monthly page on Facebook. Lowry and Harrington were long gone when I posted and it's first come first served.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 714 ✭✭✭loadwire

The PGA android app is working okay. Bettencourt now -6, has played 9 holes. Lowry has just started, parred the first.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,690 ✭✭✭Whyner

The warning is still there but scores are updating, phew

It's the small things in life...:D

Some of those LPGA players should be on the PGA! Only on the sunny courses though.

Thats some finish by Rory to birdie the last 3. Now only one off the lead.
Looking like it will be a good weekend with Harrington and Lowry only 4 back also.

Edit: And Harrington birdied the last to go -3. Nice fight back from him after a poor start.

    Great finish indeed from rory!

Rory for the Masters.... He's back!

Anyone know the tee-off times (Irish time) for Rory and Paddy?

They are underway now, Rory birdied his first now on the second. Harrington is on the 4th and is on 4 under.

Thanks dvemail. Didn't realise it had started. Tuning in now.

Watched it last night and it's exciting stuff!

Playing this week could turn out to be the kick start mcilroy needs for the season, looks like it was a good move at this stage so far

9/1 to win the masters is looking quite tempting.

And it was 11/1 yesterday morning

Sweet Jesus. Just watched lee Jansen take 75 practise swings, f*cking ridiculous.

Well that was slightly embarrassing by billy horschel

Anyone know what is on Harrington's shoes? Looks like a red ribbon tied to the laces?

Admittedly I only got a glance so I could be way off.

He wears red laces for charity.

Red laces are 1/2 an ounce heavier than white laces which helps with his swing he says.

Billy Horschel is really annoying me here now. I hope he doesnt win this.

    Really enjoying this tournament.

Favourite US tour event in a long time. Refreshing to see it's actually a real test and scoring isn't too low for a change.

See Paddy on the 18th, talk bout making things difficult for yourself otherwise a great round. Come on get a top 5 finish, think winning is beyond him, and get back in the worlds top 50.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,417 ✭✭✭The Pontiac

Rory at 7 under, three shots behind Horschel.

Should be in for a good evening of golf!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,417 ✭✭✭The Pontiac

Beautiful shot by Rory. Should be an easy birdie, to get into one shot of the lead.

Never really liked marcel siem but ive changed my mind.

Thinking of starting a fan club, I like him because he's a bit nuts.

Would love to see him win now, really deserves it after winning last week and fighting back from +4 at one stage here.

Rory drops one. Was unlucky though with the putt

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,761 ✭✭✭redzerdrog

siem just blew his chances there i feel

Rory seems to be hitting the putts well which is a good sign. Even the ones he has missed have looked like good strokes

Certainly did, golfs a killer! 2 and a half rounds of great golf to get back into contention then all gone again in one hole.
