Traveling Thailand Flights?

I'm spending a month in Thailand in July.

So far I only have flights and accomm booked for Bangkok.
I plan on doing a lot of travel and visiting different places such as Chiang Mai, Ko Phi Phi, koh samui, koh tao and koh phangan etc.
I know for the island we will have to get boats.
We want to avoid having to take long bus journeys , so where possible we will be flying.

The problem is, that we don't want to book flights in advance in and out of a place, and be tied down to staying in that place incase we don't like it and want to move on, or if we decide we want to stay on longer.

Is there any airlines within Thailand that allow you to book a flight but change to an earlier or later date last min at a no charge or low charge rate, if we decide we want to stay on longer or leave early?

I have been twice, once I booked in advance and the second time I booked a day or two before. Flights are fairly fixed and not overly expensive although this can be dependent on time of year. Dont rule out buses in some cases, for example I went from Phi Phi to Koh Samui for 12 euro by bus and boat and it took about 9 hours. The other option was to pay 120 for a flight which didnt include the cost of getting to Phuket airport which was a boat and bus anyway.

When are you planning on going? If you are going to a full moon book as far ahead as possible for accomadation as it usually sells out a couple of months in advance

Yeah I have never been that time of year but I think it does be pretty quiet at that time. Have a look on skyscanner.net and throw a few dates in to get a rough idea. Some flights were about 40 euro i.e Bangkok to Chiang Mai, Surat Thani (cheaper option than flying to Koh Samui) and Phuket while to fly to Koh Samui from Bangkok can be over 100. There is two airports in Bangkok so check both for flights, Don Mueang is the smaller one and doesnt operate international flights but a Nok Air operate out it and are often the best option for internal flights.

Accomadation is something I havent had much problems with booking last min with the exception of Full Moon party and I have seen people struggle on Koh Tao if they arrive with nothing booked but generally I booked everywhere a day or two in advance with no issues. Agoda.com is operated by booking.com but has a couple of extra hotels on there that may help.
