2 different covings in adjoining rooms

The hallway and living room of my house both featured plaster moulded dental cornice and both are adjoining.

I am getting some renovations done to the house which has meant I had to replace the cornice in the living room with standard non-decorative coving.

I have the option of keeping the dental cornice in the adjoining hallway, although my thinking is that it should all match.

My question is, is it unusual to have two different cornice/covings in use downstairs in a house, or is the norm to have it all matching?

    Thanks

i would keep the original coving. Personally I don't mind mis-matched coving.

I would agree with other poster, keep original, I like the idea of different features in different rooms. As long as you are happy with the look
