Samsung Note 2 freezes/rebooting

It seems that ever since my last update to the latest Android OS 4.1.2 my phone started to act funny. It reboots itself from time to time or other time it freezes and the only way to bring it back up and running is to force to reboot it by holding the power button. Over the last few days it is getting much worse that it happened more often.

Did a search and it seems to be a common problem with the Galaxy S3 with a lot of people and the only fix is to replace the motherboard

Are there anyone else with the Note 2 has a similar issue?

I've been having a good few freezes and have forced to pull the battery a few times over the last week or so.

    Was perfect before then.

A factory reset helped a bit but it's still happening occasionally.

    On eMobile.

The same thing here, I'm on Vodafone. Had no issues until the update.

Looks like some faulty chip that the update was supposed to help with, but causes freezing instead.

See the 6th comment, I ran the tool and it confirms my chip has the issue. Btw, someone said that later update fixes the issue (French ROM version DMB6 vs DMB2 I have - you can see this in phone info - kernel build - last few digits) but still not available in UK and Ireland.

I'll ring Samsung support on Monday and see what they'll say.

    Yipeee.
    I've go a sane chip.
The only reason I updated from 4.1.1 was my fear of sudden death
Should of stayed where I was :(

Insane chip, got the phone a couple of months ago as an insurance replacement. Bugger anyway. I have noticed in the last few days it hasn't been as responsive as it once was.

Surely having an insane chip doesn't matter if your phone is running well ?

Pretty sure it means you could suffer from SDS at any point.
