Sheep thieves

Noticed a missing sheep the other day - a ewe with single lamb from a group of 20 other singles. Traveled a huge area looking for her to no avail. Found a set of ewe tags thrown in the ditch along the road outside the field - they had been cut out. The ewe has obviously been taken.

Reported the theft to the Gardai - was told there was a large number of similar reports lately. This is so frustrating, things have been difficult enough this year with the weather, a few cases of Schmallenberg, dreadful fodder all winter resulting in a very difficult lambing period and now this.

All I can do now, is keep an eye on the sheep as closely as possible - we went through this with dogs before and after months of torture we eventually got a result - whoever is taking these sheep better hope the same result isn't achieved this time around, otherwise they'll end up like the dogs.....

Anyone else victim of this lately?
