First off, I'd like to apologise if this has already been posted several times. Got a letter back in November saying that my license was about to expire. Only problem was the letter issue date was the 5th of November and I received it on the 27th. This gave me a whopping 3 days to renew my license. I was pretty busy with college and since I don't drive at all I just thought "F*** it anyway.".

I'm wondering, do I have to sit the theory test again? It's my own fault but I'm just wondering.

Just bring the expired licence to the motor tax office and the renew fee, as far as im aware off, your safe and wont need to re-sit the theory test :)

Yes once you renew it within two years of expiring.

Is this your first or second provisional? When I tried to renew mine before I had to bring proof a driving test had been taken

It's my first. I didn't take any lessons or drive at all as I was, and still am, flat broke.

Hey! Just wondering did you have to resit the theory test? I'm in the same position you were in and any help at all would be great.

As others have said, there is no need to re sit your theory test if your learner permit has only been expired for a brief period of time.
