Volunteering with Animals in South Africa

Hi, just wondering if anybody has done any volunteering work with animals? Was looking at this site for a game conservatory in South Africa: http://volunteers.bookingsouthafrica.com/listing-game-reserve-5.html It's 5200 Rand a week (around €416/week) with a minimum 4week stay. Is that a bit pricey? I don't know anybody…

I don't know anybody that has ever gone abroad to volunteer with animals and would love some feedback on experiences
